Ukes under construction March 5th 2010

Aloha from the shop! We are rarely idle around here and August finds us in the act of building 5-7 new instruments. I'll just provide a few thumbnails to whet your appetites...
Curly Koa- I have two Baritones going. One all Koa and one with a cedar top. Don't wonder about how nice the sides will be, they are sliced off the mother board and have the same wonderful figure.
Mahogany and Australian Cedar Baritone is almost finished; Just waiting for the lacquer to completely dry. ( one month minimum) This uke features my new headstock logo inlay for all new ukes. SOLD IN MID JUNE
Spalted and Flamed Mango Concert. She's gonna be a beauty! I really enjoy making concert sized ukes, but they're just as much work, or more, to minimize size while maximizing sound. This set is special.
Padauk and Cedar Baritone. That's the bright red / orange one. It will oxidize over time to browns, reds and purples.
All cedar Baritone. I want to try something extremely light weight, and this one... I've got some special plans for.
      ----------------------------------------------------------

I'm planning on putting better reinforcements into the necks, most will have dual action truss rods, some just Hardwood laminates and / or Carbon graphite stringers.

I've recieved some good advice that some folks want these to be electric... they've said that, for the money... these ukes should be "stage ready". So, We've decide that as of June 2010, all of our ukes will be made as "passive electric". Same good looks and clear accoustic sounds, but when the lights come up, you're ready to plug in and play.  Fishman products are the best in the business... I'll be using them unless you demand something different.
